Matthew A. Cone grew up in a small, quiet California town, the kind of place where not much happens, so a kid learns to make worlds of his own. His imagination was loud even when his surroundings weren't, and it needed somewhere to go. It found its way out through writing.
The spark came in a school creative writing class. Something clicked, and that was the beginning of everything. He journaled. He wrote prose. He filled pages with a kind of expression he hadn't known he was looking for, pages that mostly stayed hidden, shared only with a few close friends, family, and maybe one or two with someone he hoped to impress.
