From a WWII Cadet Nurse
In 1944 my mother, Dorothy Rose Hokanson, was excepted as a cadet nurse in answer to the call of war. She traveled to Chicago at the height of the war--a country girl's first time in the big city. The time, people, and places she experienced are recorded in the letters she sent home.
